Depends on my playthrough. For stealth chars, Sneak is a must, but usually guns. For my char atm, im playing as a saboteur, so explosives first. Then sneak.

For some strange reason i always max out guns...Im a registered gun nut so i guess thats why I love guns in general so yeah i max guns first

Speech is the one I max out most, it's a pretty and maybe essential(imo)useful skill to use. That and Guns.

I used to max out guns, but I noticed that was pretty much useless - especially for a stealth character.
Now I always start with science! I hate not being able to hack terminals!
Skill #2 is of course Lockpick - for the same reason.

Lockpick so I can pick the locks on whatever comes my way and then Survival

I max out my speech first. I've now realized just how easy this makes the game, but it's always painful to pass up or fail on a speech check. Must be OCD.

Speech for additional dialogues and agility for action points.

I am partial to repair as I always seem to to be in combat and need to keep my weapons fixed.  It really depends on the style of game play.   Just my Opinion.  Cheers!!!  V/R  MistTiger

Instead of suggesting some stats I am just going to tell you to max out whatever you want to be the best at early in the game. It really all comes down to what you want.

I go for SPEECH first because it saves a lot of time and plays important role in many quests too.

Sneaking, stealth is so broken in Fallout games that if you have a high sneaking skill you can basically do what you want to who you want. Plus for my first runthroughs of RPG's I tend to play a stealthy character, and Fallout is no exception.

I tend to focus a little more on repair, but often I find myself balancing it with Speech. Gotta win those speech checks, and try to keep my gear repaired.

I normally go small arms first after that it's quite balanced between speech, sneak and survival

Usually I try to max out Guns or Stealth first...then just drop points into whatever skills I need to bulk up after that. The most important one for me has always been Stealth...I mean, it's you against a world of hostile cannibal mutant people/creatures. Learning to be awesome at hiding is probably the 1 skill everybody needs to have.

i would say luck so you can get that good crit hit every time with the sniper  personnal favorite but it depends on the pay style of the player

Science, lockpick, and speech. Though it's almost like cheating when those three are maxed.

I max out guns, and sneak because i use the anti material whit out those i am not steady.
