Repair, its good to be have a working gun and fix stuff to the max and sell them for higher.

I mostly upgrade speech first and then guns and repair but I also try and make the other skills even so over 50 or close to it.

Depends on the way I play on that playthrough.

If I loot and raid alot, I usually end up with Guns and Lockpick.

If on the other hand I go with a more MacGyver-ish play style and collect scrap and build my own weapons, bombs etc. it's usually Repair and Science, or whatever is required for the weapon crafting perks.

For stealth characters Sneak and Melee.

Repair, lockpick and science with repair having the highest priority and science the lowest. I want to loot all the containers and get access to everything, no unfound loot

1 Lockpicking (i can get locked out of a terminal but still unlock something manually)
2 Science
3 Repair
4 Speech

And that goes for all of my characters. These 4 skills are a must for me, regardless of class archetype.

Well I play TTW so I start out with Medicine, Repair, and Science. But by the time I get to Vegas, my survival and guns is through the roof

Guns skill, because you almost always have to shoot straight in the beginning of any game.

Well I think it would be Speech , Barter and Guns skills . I am a charismatic person in real life and I'm negotiating often with classmates . Guns because ... I...LOVE ... GUNS !!!

guns.... guns guns guns baby! i cant stop myself from raising that first since the very beginning! i dont like the fiddling when its not maxed out, and i dont like vats, it kills the feel of game for me.

yeah im with ya man stealth is cool ... I love sneaking up on them than just blowin their heads off

I tend to always max out speech. Even though Fallout does consist of shooting, and survival tactics, enemies are very easy to kill in the beginning. With having a high speech level, you tend to get more loot, and XP. Which is always good to have when just starting off.

Almost always Guns for me as well, followed by repair. I don't think I've ever actually put Survival past 25 before. I may have to do a playthrough where I max that out first now.

I dont always max the same skill, but the ones i do max out are Repair, Lockpicking, Science, Guns (or Energy Weapons, depends on what waepons i want to use in that playthrough) and if i can Survival and Medicine. Sometimes Sneak.
Basically the useful skills

Guns always comes first for me followed by Speech, Repair and Medicine
After that, the order is mostly irrelevant.

I always aim towards Guns first, then Speech, to Sneak, to Medicine.
After I maxed those four I just put skill points in whatever.

hmm I usually go with speech than after that I would go with sneak than guns but yeah that's the ones I usually go for but yeah just my opinion

Repair, because Jury Rigging is awesome...
