Well there's always some mods that will offer you opportunities to gain some extra caps. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 'New Vegas Bounties' Mod provides caps upon completion of bounties, whilst giving you something to do.

In NV, Pick up weapons, fix them up and sell them to anyone who have the caps.

In FO3, since the vendors don't have much caps, i keep the chems and sell them all. Chems are the items that are the most valuable and at the same time they don't have much weight.

So to sum it up in new vegas i am a weapons vendor and in Fallout 3 i am a drug dealer

Trading is probably the easiest way early on, an easy way to carry more worth of stuff is to repair as many of the weapons and armors you pick up as you can, it reduces the weight by double.

I usually pick up so much stuff I'm overencumbered, then drink alcohol to gain +1 STR and fast travel to a town before it wears off.

Of course you can also do quests, in New Vegas I get a lot of money from bounty hunting/contract killing, both the stuff you get from your contracts' bodies and the actual pay of the job. It's also a great way to level up. See to Someguy2000's mods, though I bet you already have. Who in their right mind would not have

Agreed, Caravan should be more out there, you know. It's supposed to be a popular game throughout the Mojave, people should be playing it in tables outside saloons. In vanilla it's almost as if no one plays it unless you ask them to. Calls for a mod, no?

In Fallout 3, I went out and about collecting fingers. Can't escape the justice of a gun!

As for NV, I try to collect equipment as I go and sell it if I'm not in a cheatsy-doodle mood.

I basically scavenge and collect as much as I can as I travel then sell it all on when I get to a vendor.

Be sure to make the most of your companions inventory too if you're going to do something like that because the extra carrying weight will help you to get a lot more out of it. That's if you have any followers anyway but yeah they are useful pack mules heheh

Aaaannd come to think of it, scavenging. I have a habit of picking up stuff thinking "Oh, this'll come in useful!" and then never using it. So every so often, I clear out my inventory to a vendor...

...only to refill it with crap in a few hours.

@DocMitchell Liar. You fix people up for a living. Doc Mitchell doesn't leave his house or gamble.

When I'm low level, I usually find anything that has worth and sell it.(YES even the Tin cans XD) Then as I level up, I just tend to just scavenge the bodies of enemies, or sell items when i get to a vendor.

1. I gamble
2. I go find some Legion soldiers, Kill them, Take all the equipment and clothes they have and sell it.

1. Bounty Hunting.
2. Gambling.
3. Looting/Scavenging.

It depends.. why are need the caps.. IF!! you want the caps to do something in the Fallout NV/F3 game which you haven't been able to get the required number of caps for no matter how hard you try.. :/ I would just suggest using console commands "Player.placeatme 0000000f 900" which will give you 900 caps each time.. :L however if you want to do it the none cheater way then you just simply play the quests which pay good amount of caps..

That or do what I do, which is to basically grab every piece of junk you see and sell it until you have enough money for whatever it is you need

In the early game, collect everything that you can, and sell them when you can...
In the mid to late game, collect weapons, repair them, and profit!

Needless to say, jury rigging is almost mandatory for this to work...
But hey, I guess most of the people here uses this perk anyway...

I made a Walter White type character and only sold drug items to make caps the entire game. It was extremely frustrating but also fun at the same time.

1) Hunting. I hunt my enemies and collect loot, all of it.

2) Don't hold on to anything but what i carry. I run with Sniper rifle and Pistol or a PDW. I sale everything else (Unless my team mates need it)

3) Make enemies to sale more stuff.

Blackjack, theft, scavenging. Killing the ones people wouldnt miss if I'm really desperate and the character style allows it.

Blackjack is really good way to earn money. I've earned alot that way. Just not on any of my recent characters thou.

Thieving is to. But i think compared to Fallout 3.

Thieving isn't that beneficial (Unless I'm just looking in the wrong places in Vegas lols)

The gold old fashion way
1. have six luck(or items that give you luck, the more the better)
2. Get a little caps (enough for a few 100 chips, hell just get some ncr dollars, might be easier and worth more)
3. Go to the nearest fine gambling establishment.
4. Bleed it dry.
5. Rinse and repeat(if neccessary)

Or you could do it the messy fun way.
1. Kill a bunch of assholes and steal their stuff to sell.
2. Money spent buying ammo and repairing gear may not even out though, so better go kill more assholes for their money and loot.
3. Rinse and repeat, until profit is made.

Or there is always SnowGlobes.
1. Find the damn Globes.
2. Sell them to house.
