FNV is better than FO4 for me in many different ways. I prefer an actual dialogue system that gives insight into how my character is going to respond, and the main character is not voiced in FNV or FO3. With FNV you can install Tale of Two Wastelands (TTW) and this will allow you to experience FO3 and then travel to the Mojave in FNV. TTW installs FO3 into the FNV modified gamebryo engine which is more stable than it was in FO3. When you compare the DLC's for FNV and FO3 there is definitely a clear winner; FNV takes the DLC award by a long shot. Don't get me wrong though, FO3 has decent DLC but they are not as memorable as the ones in FNV. With FO3 you can continue playing the game indefinitely after the main story line, with FNV you can't do this without mods like CAGE (Continue After Game Ends). The DLC in FNV is more thought provoking as well and the environments are more interesting. At the end of the day though the choice is yours and yours alone. Some gamers never want to look back at older games either because of the graphical downgrade or whatever, but if your feeling adventurous give both games a try with an open mind and don't get angry and give up after 15-20 minutes. FO3 and FNV won't hold your hand as much as FO4 did and that upsets gamers but if you get stuck the fallout.wikia will help you; just enter in the name of the current quest and you get a full walk through with behind the scenes trivia added in to sweeten the deal. =)
