| I know I posted a thread before this, but this is a different issue entirely.
I have this laptop here, and I'm fairly certain that if I can get 30-40 fps in Tomb Raider on High, I should be able to run an ENB in 1080p, but I end up getting like 10-20 fps. I'm searching for the culprit, and I see that even though my gpu is at 99% usage, my cpu is practically falling asleep at a mere 30-40% load, with one core doing the majority of the work. Does anyone know how to up the usage of my cpu? Or at least spread it evenly between the 4 logical processors?

| Well I might be wrong but I've always thought that gpu and cpu usage don't necesarily correlate. Different ENB's have affect the performance differently but for start I would try to find out if the game is using the dedicated GPU instead of the basic one. |

| I did a quick google search and it seems lots of people had this problem, but it was before the new patches come along, meaning right after the game just releases. Otherwise, there really isn't a solution other than updating the game to the latest patch and check your drivers as well. |

| Depends on the enb and always update your game.
Also you could try performance versions of enb's or try to run your game in borderless window mode that gives sometimes a big performance and stabilty increase.
Succes and where here to help so always ask if there's a problem. |

| i thought everyone had this problem, cause is the game engine fault. i have an i5 + gtx 760 but barely get 35+fps at The Strip even in Vanilla |

| depends what gpu/cpu you have. amd ones are not good for gaming, cuz most of the time games are optimized for nvidia and intel, dont get me wrong no fanboyism here. another thing is many game devs are completely noobs or they just dont care, even far cry 4 uses only 1 core while the rest is on holydays. not many games can use multiple cores correctly, so that is why i like to go with intel. |

-Hax Fallout 3 and New Vegas aren't optimized for Multicore CPUs, the base speed is 1.80 Ghz which is pretty low, but the turbo boost speed is 3.00 ghz which is very high, now, I am not sure if there is a way to force the CPU to always use the higher speed. I remember Fallout 3 crashing when using Quad Core CPUs. As for the... GPU, I think there is an AMD .dll fix somewhere in the internet. Not sure if its Fallout or for Skyrim. | @TixIssence56 Yeah I'm starting to figure that out lol, the base speed is really only for when its not plugged in, usually its running around 2.50-3.00 ghz whenever I check, and I set the processor speed to always be 100%. I tried the fix, but only got about a 3-4 fps improvement, but I suppose that's better than nothing. _________________ |

If all else fails you can try Unparking CPUs although that will make your laptop a tadbit hotter (not noticeable). Hope that helps. |

| I did some research into the matter, and a multitude of people have complained that CPU optimization is terrible in Tomb Raider.
To begin, I'd simply like to suggest that the CPU may just be bottlenecking your system. It might not be the case, but it's a possibility.
If you're confident enough to edit your registry, you could add the following. It comes from Tomb Raider forums: Try to add the following key to your registry: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Dynamics\Tomb Raider\Graphics] "MultiCoreFlushMode"=dword:00000001"'
There are reports of people gaining another 30fps from this. _________________ - I wrote:

| The fallout engine itself is extremely unoptimized, Especially for effects that modern games of today use. The problem is most likely the ENB itself, Very few laptops are able to withstand an ENB with FO/Skyrim. Heck, Even most desktops have trouble maintaining a stable frame rate.
Fallout and Skyrim are very CPU intensive, The speed of your CPU matters quite a bit and also low cpu usage is generally a good thing in gaming. too high CPU usage can be a disaster.
As for solutions, Ditch the enb all together or only use the basic settings and colour correction. Settings that crush performance are Depth Of Field and Ambient Occlusion, Press SHIFT+ENTER to bring up the menu and disable these.

| The crazy thing is, I have Tomb Raider installed and I run it at around 40 fps on High in 1080p, but I'm struggling with the goddamned Gamebryo engine lol. Thanks, all of you, for your help. _________________ |
