Thanks for the votes guys. I will eventually do a Spec Ops version of the NCR, but I will be releasing a WW2 themed NCR overhaul first. I've been posting lots of pics on the screenshot thread. It overhauls many NPCs too.

Those WW2-theme armors look great, and had I seen this earlier I would have voted for that myself. They're very lore-friendly as well, aesthetically.

One of my favorite things about Fallout is the retro-futuristic style of weapons and clothing, and this is the kind of thing I've been looking around for more of on mod forums for quite some time. Respect to you.

Even though the game is set in the post-apocalypse, the NCR is a good example of a community (which is now a country in itself) which has rebuilt and reclaimed civilization. If you remember visiting the New Californian Republic in FO2, it was pretty close to a pre-war society in most ways except for the "one mistake gets you shot" policy.

Their behaviour and especially their clothes didn't really say "post-apocalypse" at all because they have the money, the ability and the incentive to provide their troops with real uniforms which actually, you know, enforce uniformity. Having an army that dresses alike fosters solidarity among the soldiers and respect from citizens who see a capable and coordinated fighting force. Maintaining the illusion of control is just as important for the NCR as the actual control their armies exert over the wasteland.

They are a professional army and as such they have clothing regulations. Your common grunt doesn't just put on a biker helmet because it's better than his field issue helmet, he's responsible for that helmet and it's coming out of his pay if it gets lost. Similarly he's going to get punished for being out of uniform or using a weapon that isn't his. Realistically, only the veterans and officers can be expected to modify their standard field attire and get away with it. The NCR does not have the best technology around despite being the biggest force, they rely on simple ballistic weaponry and tnt-based explosives because replicating laser/plasma weapons and cutting edge personal protection is just not possible for a force as large as the one they manage. There's no kevlar protection or advanced modern-day camo for your average NCR grunt. He gets the same uniform as everyone else, a rifle which has likely changed hundreds of hands before and a few rounds of ammo and is told to make due.

I personally think this is a really important aspect of the NCR and what sets them apart from everyone else in the wasteland. They symbolize civilization for better and definitely also for worse, they bring security, normality and peace riding on the back of bureaucracy, laws and total compliance with the state where propaganda often counts more than action.

I can't wait for this mod to come out, already looks like it fits the game perfectly.

First time in a while that I've ever truly wanted to renounce my vote on something. After seeing the BF3 gear, compared to Spec Ops: The Line, it made me reconsider.

Damn man, those are some of the most realistic looking NPCs I have ever seen, great stuff Drag.

The only memorable NPC that I haven't seen in that gallery would be Contreras or however you spell it, the guy in Camp McCarran that gets in trouble.

It is bloody wonderful, i can't wait until i get my hands on it, i will use the armor with the cape and a gas mask paired along with a cowboy hat and im going to look like a WW1 Scout from Battlefield 1. Drag, your the kind of guy who puts effort and time into your work and we are very happy that you are still modding New Vegas and havenn't moved to Fallout 4. Huge respect from me.

I realized that asking this in the screenshot thread was probably silly so I'll repost my question here.
If Ranger Andy is no longer a ranger, why was he allowed to keep the armour? It follows that he likes to pretend he still is, but you'd think that was government property and not his to keep. Not that I know about the NCR regulations it did make me curious.

Thinking about it as well, I feel as though weapons should also be overhauled when using the BF and SOTL Overhauls so they fit in with the Tactical 21st century Military Asthetics the NCR will use.
