| Hey everybody, I once again need the help of the good people of GUN.
I recently sarted to have a strange sound bug in New vegas. Most of the sounds have a weird reverb/echo effect. It affects NPC voices, Gun sounds (firing, equipping), footsteps, even the small noises that the pipboy makes. It started not long after I've installed the Radio Active Channel Extender mod, plus I already had another Radio mod, called Radio Blues i think, so I thought that it would be either a R.A.C.E related bug, or maybe the two mods messing with each other (never had a problem with radio blues). I tried by deactivating radio Blues and the problem was gone...until I restarted the game, and the problem came up again. So I deactivated R.A.C.E too, but the problem persists.
And another wierd thing is, that, most of the times the problem stopped either when I reload a save, or if relaunch the game, sometimes it stops after entering a new cell, even rebooting my PC seems to correct the bug sometimes, though it's completely random has to how and when the bug stops. It's really a game breaking bug to be in the middle of the desert, out in the open, and have every sound sounding like everything takes place in a cave or something. I've played New Vegas a lot, but never came across that bug before. if anyone has had the same problem or might know a permanent fix it would be really helpful.

| You really should be using Mod Organizer if you are not already doing so, that way mods won't break the game and you won't need to reinstall. _________________ I want to dress in your insecurities. |

| All right, it seems that I've fixed the problem. There's an audio software on my pc called nahimic msi, which is supposed to enhance the sound or something like that, and it has different settings and effects. Turns out one of these effects is reverb and it was on (explains why it affected every sound in game). So i turned it off, launched the game and voila, no more reverb problem in game. Though I've never used it before, some settings must have been changed, probably due to the few updates I had the other day. Anyway, thanks for the replies. @Keevs, no I'm not using Mod organizer, but I've looked at it and it seems really useful so I'll give it a try, thanks for the tips. |
