TTW Lag and Freezing issue

I was able to play TTW for a while with no problems whatsoever, good FPS, an occasional crash but not a real problem for me. However, it recently began to have very high amount of lag and stuttering, and the fps dropping to a steady 20-25, normally running at 30-40 fps. The stuttering with the low fps is unplayable, but to make matters worse, after about 5 minutes of playing, the game freezes. I don't know what went wrong and what causes it. Hopefully someone here can help me.

Do you use the 4GB Fallout New Vegas? If not I suggest you try it. It helps my game handle TTW and keep the crash to a minimum.

Yes i do use FNV4GB. Along with that I use NVAC and NVSR. Despite that I still have a major stutter and freezing

It might be save-game bloat? Also, if you kill lots of things, you should enter pcb in the console now and then, to clear things up.

Hmm, I started playing ttw some time ago, like just 2 hours of gameplay, so I can't see the problem yet.
And you don't use mods that I already have problems.
What I recommend to you is to make a bashed patch if you don't have.

You have 103 mods active which could be the problem, See the game likes to act very oddly once you go 100+ but I don't think it should just happen out of nowhere like it apparently has.

Try lowering the load order and see if that helps?

I use 100+ plugins, and have a save with more than 50 hours, no lags and stuttering.
Plugins problems happen with more than 140~150.

It really depends on your system but I just figure 100+ is a safe bet.
Mine is very low-end so I try and keep it under that :/

I've ran just the base New Vegas before with up over 110 on my system with no problems whatsoever, so I don't think its a plugin limit issue. I think I might have to just give up and reinstall.... AGAIN.

Are you using Mod Organizer?
I strongly recommend you to try it, FNV folder will stay intact.

Steam might be draining your CPU. I had an issue where steam took up like 30% of my CPU whilst playing games, and it made me lag and sometimes crash. Whilst in fallout, press Alt and Esc, and go to the task manager, see if anything else is draining your CPU while playing.
If so, kill the process.

Might not be the case for you though.

I have two very simple recommendations for you.

One: Turn your PC on and off, or give it a little knock.

Two: Run it as administrator.

On a serious note, your load order might be sideways (f*cked in otherwords) and it might be causing the crash. Try run it through LOOT or BOSS, who knows? Might fix your problem.

No im using Nexus Mod Manager. I tried switching over to MO once and I couldn't even get it to open the game, so I went back to NMM. And I'll try those recommendations God Squad.

Seeing that you still can't identify the problem yet, your best bet is to troubleshoot the old fashion way. Disable(or enable, depending on your preferred troubleshoot method) your mods/plugins one by one until you find the problem. I noticed that you don't have a merged patch. Maybe you should try creating one first and test it before disabling your mods.

I personally run most of the mods you are running and my game runs at a fine 30-40 fps.

iCuez, I've been having lag issues myself with the latest build of TTW, but I only lag a bit in DC, NV is fine for me. I also have missing voices for DC, but I think it's an unrelated issue lol. Haven't found a fix yet, but for me it could simply be because I have HDR lighting ticked. (HDR lightening usually slows down my game a bit at times)

iCuez, have you tried to use FakeFullscreen? It helps when you have a lot of mods. Try it. It makes a good FPS boost too. I hope it will help you.(This program make me happy to play FNV without FPS drops.)

Use the fake fullscreen mod from here http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/7347/? it works better, download Simple Runtime Window Editor 2.2 from the miscellaneous section had a lot of problems with the other fullscreen mods this works for FNV and other games.

You could try making a merged patch with FNVEdit.

I seem to have the same issue as you with TTW, my NV runs fine but DC is a pain in the ass. I'll have to give fake full screen and a merge patch a try to see if that will help. Hopefully there will be a resolution to this issue. By the way, what cpu are you running?
