Cant play just crashes

So i got a new computer one of the reasons was so i could play FNV smoothly. As it turns out after i installed the game and got my basic mods in i got in to the game and it runs from anywhere between 2 minutes to 10 minutes before it crashes and the crash is bad too, the game just freezes where its at and if i open control panel Via "Ctrl Alt delete" it does not allow me to end the task because i can't see the control panel due to the game being frozen how it is. So i Have to restart my computer just be able to do anything again. I am using 4GB enabler and NVSE I didnt do anything other then install them seperately because thats all I did before on my other computer and it worked fine but if there is something i need to do for them to work together maybe that is my problem? A guide for that would be helpful.

Are you using 4GB Fallout New Vegas? If not you should try it.
Also try enabling and disabling mods because maybe some mods conflict that makes your game crash.
You could also try FNVEdit to find out what the conflict is.
One thing you could do is have as little programs running as possible so your Fallout can use everything it needs.

GEEEESSSE! That sucks! If it were me, here's some things I'd try. (after I'm done freaking out of course) I don't think I've ever had a crash THAT bad but maybe this might help. First, run FNVEdit and (if it finds no critical errors when loading) create a merged patch. Make sure the patch is active in your load order before you start the game. If your game crashes, press alt tab. If you are still stuck in the game window, open the task manager with ctrl alt delete like you did before. If you cannot see the task manager, try alt tab again. If you still cannot see the task manager, then s*#t, I'd use the ace in the whole. Run New Vegas in a smaller window and not in full screen. This won't fix the crashes but at least you should be able to see the task manager so you don't have to restart your computer. From there I'd just start trying whatever I can think of. I hope you don't get to that point.

I'm about to switch to a better gaming rig myself (see my topic "Gaming computer rig/hardware for Christmas" under Off Topic for more info) so this is a little unnerving to me.

Yea i would definitely try everything mentioned above. The only thing that I would mention is that I've had a similar issue where after I press Ctrl + Alt + Del and run task manager, it runs but I can't see anything. If you press:

1. Enter
2. Down Arrow
3. Alt +E

It should end fallout without you having to restart your whole computer. This should work so long as your whole computer hasn't crashed. I know its not really a fix for your problem but when your troubleshooting, anything to help you get back in their and fix things quicker always helps me.

Ive tried so many things and still nothing its all the same. This game just crashes. If your computer sucks it crashes if your computer is good it crashes because it is TOO good. Most unstable game ive ever played.

might seem ridiculous but are you using windows 8 or 8.1 by any chance?

Defrag your hard drive, use LOOT, Check your load order for any anomalies like a esp or esm that has a master file you don't have. Also check what programs are running in the background. I now this sounds redundant but ARE you using NVSE and the 4GB version together? did you properly install those and do the whole "GetNVSEVersion" thing as well? Also if you using an ENB did you put the dll file into the exes folder and have the proper settings turned on? Like water displacement off, AA off and shadows off? One more thing to add on is your OS? windows 7, 8? or 8.1?

If you could post your load order as well there might be some clues in there as to why your game keeps crashing.

check your mods and use LOOT for load order, dont forget some mods need to be activated after installation.

sometimes i got ctd or hang or error because some mods need to be activated after download or i forgot to run LOOT after installing mods.

I am using windows 8 or 8.1 cant remember which but I am using one of them.
