And it was from a Rust Player closed eyes smile

To anyone who is interested to see how it looks like in the game, check the videos below:

Prime example why FPS games are bad in console gaming, at least it looks bad in Fallout 76. Like the guy said, it feels clunky. People have to rely on VATS more often.

Overall gameplay is just boring, these videos were entertaining though. Like what's the point? Kill, loot, build, repeat.

@c4in I agree but more so about the PVP. It is pointless since you only get scrap. Not only that it takes too much time to kill 1 person if they do not engage you.

I can see people enjoying this game for it's settlement building though since it is similar to Fallout 4's settlement system and that has created its own fanbase.

It is really hard for me to get into this game with just that though which is why they need to overhaul PVP or at least make it so that only factions or guilds that are at war with each other are able to go full pvp with each other/pvp servers.

@ahyuser001 Even then, the settlement building is extremely lackluster. In Fallout 4, people liked building huge settlements from bunkers to massive skyscrapers filling them with details and NPCs.

The number of mods needed just to make settlement building somewhat enjoyable is staggering. In Fallout 76 you don't get that. You get a mediocre sized area to build a shack or a tent relying on base game assets. It makes sense for the game but removes the want to build something more interesting than an empty box with workbenches and a stash.

I really only see myself exploring the world with my friends while facing the occasional griefer. I'm sure the game will be fun but I'm worried about how long that fun will last.

Since I see settlements a topic here I can and will contribute to this. I will also add to the the topics of Griefing and Exploration. All my input will be in spoiler tabs as I have a lot to talk about in the time that I have been able to play and it will make topics easier to navigate.

Settlements:

Exploration:

Griefing:

If any more questions are to be had feel free to ask. But at the time of posting this the second BETA (technically the third) is about to begin so I am back to wastes for another two hours.

@MrEggs0925 I would have to say that despite Fallout 76 having the same settlement building as Fallout 4 it does have new assets that players can play with. You can see this on a lot of streams or gameplay vids of the Fallout 76 demo.

The thing with this system is it is already good and the only limiting factor is the player's creativity. I could already imagine people making their own houses/settlement and merging it with other players creations. There are people out there who would have fun doing that.

My only issue with exploration is getting the feeling of repetitiveness. I do get enjoyment from discovering new places or lore but there will come a point where I will get the feeling that I already did this or I have already seen that. I think I will wait until they add more content before I buy the game with that price tag.

@Fury It has been awhile since I touched Fallout 4's settlement system but could you guys confirm if the rug glitch still works?

@ahyuser001 I am aware of the new assets available. But I don't necessarily mean stuff like construction barricades or porta-poddies. I mean mods like Homemaker or SOE which add complete new build sets for rooms, hallways, etc...

Fallout 76's settlement system seems more aimed at stuff like small campsites, or small shacks. Not full-on military bases. While this was done for obvious reasons it none the less removed a lot of the aspects of settlement building that made it great. A major one being mods and how much your PC could take before everything became a 1 FPS slideshow.

I have to agree with you on the exploration. Even modded Fallout gets boring at some point and from what I've seen some areas can be incredibly bare. I could give some examples, but I don't want to spoil anything.
