Hey GUNers! The one thing that always brings a subject to life is film. For better or worse sometimes. In the past, films made about games can sometimes suffer both critically or at the box office. So that is when fan films come in. What does GUN think about Fallout related fan movies in general. Not entire feature length movies per say but maybe series or short films produced by students or fans have made. Are there any movies that have good or decent acting, writing, story telling? I am wondering what anyone here have watched and enjoyed.
Maybe as a side discussion how does everyone feel about a feature Fallout movie. Made by a real studio with a Hollywood budget? Would it do well maybe? Or could it fail terribly?

Wayside creations Nukabreak is a favorite of mine. It sticks true to the games and lore. There is also Red Star by the same Wayside Creations about a Desert Ranger Another fan film I liked was Lanius, it was really done well.
A sort of parody is Fallout vs Skyrim
As far as a major motion picture, I would love to see one made. But I feel that it would be done wrong and disappoint like the Doom movie did.

I don't want to see a full length movie sadly. I cannot imagine it being done well, unless it was multi-part and directed by like James Cameron lol

I honestly just want to see fans enjoy their beloved franchise through any means, even through film. Obviously if it's fan made, it won't look as good as a James Cameron film, but if it stays true to it's roots, gamers will be sure to appreciate it. Also look up the fan made stuff that @"Hoppyhead" mentioned, they're great.

@GoofyGoo6er yeah I'm not sure about a move based on a the game. Game stories are written in such a way that their stories are compelling and told through gameplay. And movies are written in order to be told with actors. Of course games have actors too. If Fallout was made into a movie it might just be a kind of Mad Max with retro-future twist. I don't think games fare well when made into movies. Prince of Persia and Assassin's Creed might be decent examples of how game stories might not go well in a cinematic medium. That is just my opinion though.

Video game movies have always been somewhat disappointing from all the ones I've seen before. Usually made to benefit its creators at a time of hype and mass interest for the game and its related content.
Fan films however have this sort of heart that you don't get with an actual production because they are usually fans of said games themselves while the big budget 'hollywood' ones probably only have a fraction of those who enjoy it.
