| I don't suppose if anybody knows?
I'm thinking of getting a 4K monitor but don't want it consuming loads of RAM for games like new Vegas where it's quite limited, does anybody know if this is the case?
Thankyou _________________ - My YouTube - |

| I assume you mean VRAM, right? Normal RAM is not affected by screen resolution. But if you're gonna play games in 4K your PC needs to render 4x the amount of pixels. But to be able to understand it better, what specs are your PC running fam? _________________ |

| Hi. First of all RAM usage has no relation with resolution. You can game at 4K with just 8 gigs of RAM, no sweat. It's the Vram of the graphics card that plays a crucial role. It depends on the games and the amount of mods you're rocking but for New Vegas it's not a big deal. Any recent card would be able to handle it with quite a few high res texture mods. If you could share your specs we would be able to help further. Hope I'm not too late and happy gaming! |

| GTX 980 has 4 GB of VRAM, which can do some (emphasis on some) 4k gaming.
I'd also refer to this thread for help on the subject: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2433071/gtx-980-4gb-single-screen.html
Overall, I'd stick to the 980 for 1080p gaming, and get a better Graphics card if you're serious about 4k gaming, like a 1070 or a 1080 (or wait a bit and get a 1080 ti). _________________ - PC SPECS:
