| hi guys , I have an annoying little problem. with new vegas, concerning the grass, I am using wasteland flora overhaul dead version plus enb and small version of nmc. now the annoying thing is when u are moving forward, the grass keeps appearing in front of u, ie popping in.. I have increased lods for the texture overhauls, its annoying instead of them being loaded and u just walk through them, I get the pop in,, and this is from about what would be in game about 10 body lengths away. any suggestions for something to do about this would be greatly appreciated thankyou |

| I couldn't tell you definitively what is causing this, but I can give you some suggestions that may assist you.
Make a backup of your Ini Files, and make new ones, tweak the LOD / Look for any Grass LOD Options within it.
Try disabling mods to see if its one of the few your using?

| So here is a little thing I found out.
1. Head to your \Documents\My Games\Fallout3\NewVegas;
2. The files you will need to modify are Fallout.ini and FalloutPrefs.ini;
3. Now inside of each of them there may be identical and one ini may not have the same things as the other, but if does have, you need to change it, here are optional values for you. Try them like this and not over it, because they are already upped quite a bit!
- forcefullLOD=1 - fBlockLoadDistanceLow=50000 - fTreeLoadDistance=40000 - uGridsToLoad=7
That should do a MASSIVE difference into your game apparence related to Draw Distance, some stuff may still act up only when you get close, but much less then before. You may edit the values for more or for less, but not at comical range as it may end up with you breaking you game distance.
*Do remember that it WILL affect abit of your performance if you have a weaker PC, so just play around with lower values if your PC is not able to handle the tweak. The first command itself will not realy do much impact on performance, more is the others.*
And last but not least, Fallout.ini and FalloutPrefs.ini are the best way to tweak your game basics, such as draw distances and stuff related to graphics.
Hope I helped you, kisses.

Hmm, also raising the ugrids are known to make the game more unstable. And if I remember correctly, a savegame saved while using ugrids 7, will crash instant if you try to set it back to 3 or 5. I think there is a ugridstoload plugin fix for skyrim. But I'm not sure if that works for FNV. _________________ ᅚᅚᅚ

| I see, I use it on 6, because of that, I should had put that little big of info in there as well!
Well, I use it on 6, you do it at your own risk really, you can change to 6 if you want or a value that is +1 then the one you already have set.
Or you can try with the other lines, and not mess with this last one. Do make a save game before changing this things. And mess around with you game, do some heavy stuff in-game, big fights, nothing really important, and not save a single time. This way you will see how your game runs without having a chance to break it, as your game will be loading a previous save with previous settings.
But just for safety, do not change the last line if you're afraid of the game bugging out on you. (: _________________ |

| uGrids is unstable and will make the game bug if you change it.
NVAC actually has a fix for the grass problem, the engine was hard coded to use a uGrids value of 3 with the grass instead of 5, NVAC fixes it. |

| I never heard of NVAC, none of the times it showed up for me, dunno. uGrids didn't really did much harm to my game, I can change it at will, but I guess each has it's ups and downs. For some the uGrids will be a terrible thing to change and NVAC will be the way, and others the uGrids will be the solution and may or may not try NVAC and see if it will help further. _________________ |
